Eight are left in the semifinals of ‘The Voice’! They each perform TWICE during the May 13 episode, with hopes of getting enough votes to earn a spot in next week’s finale.

The first artist to hit the stage during the May 13 episode of The Voice is Andrew Sevener, who sings Cody Johnson’s version of “Long Haired Country Boy.” The old-school country song is right in Andrew’s wheelhouse, and he gets a standing ovation from his coach, Blake Shelton, as well as Kelly Clarkson. Andrew is praised for his ability to ‘own’ the stage, and Blake and Adam Levine say that it’s the 22-year-old’s best performance of the season.

Up next is the first Beatles duet: Kim Cherry (team Blake) and Shawn Sounds (team John Legend) team up to perform “Eleanor Rigby.” There’s major emotion and talent in the performance, and although it’s quite dark, they definitely bring all the feels. Next, Gyth Rigdon takes the stage to sing “God Bless The U.S.A,” and it’s the perfect feel-good song for this moment in the competition.

Next, Kim Cherry, from team Blake, performs “Together Again” by Janet Jackson. Kim was almost eliminated last week and only made it through thanks to the Instant Save, so there’s a lot riding on this performance and she definitely delivers. Kim is followed by another epic duet — this time, it’s Maelyn Jarmon, from John’s team, and Rod Stokes, from Kelly’s team, who collaborate on a Beatles classic. The performance is absolutely epic and leaves the crowd going wild.

Another team Blake artist, Carter Lloyd Horne, takes the stage next to sing “Take Me To Church.” It’s a song that’s right in his wheelhouse, and he delivers a powerful vocal that definitely resonates with the crowd. However, Kelly admits that the performance is slightly pitchy and not the best Carter has ever done.

Kelly’s last remaining artist in the competition, Rod Stokes, is up next with his solo performance. He sings an amazing rendition of “Go Rest High On That Mountain” by Vince Gill. It’s a country classic that fits the bill of the artist Rod wants to be, so it’s the perfect song for him to pull out during this all-important semifinal round.

Next, two of Blake’s semifinalists, Gyth and Dexter Roberts, team up for their Beatles duet. It’s the perfect pairing, and the guys put a country twist on a classic hit by the band. Maelyn returns to the stage next for her solo performance of “Stay” by Rihanna. She has the entire crowd captivated from the very first note and delivers a stunning vocal to prove she definitely deserves a spot in next week’s finale.

Up next is the final Beatles duet, and it’s another pairing of team Blake artists — Carter and Andrew. They perform an epic rendition of “Help,” and they clearly have a great time doing it. Even though it’s a serious song, the guys bring some fun to the stage and wow the crowd.

Dexter is up next, and he sounds amazing on his rendition of 3 Doors Down’s “Here Without You.” His coach, Blake, assures him that he has what it takes to be a country artist, and Dexter definitely proves it with this performance. To close out the night, Shawn performs “A Song For You” by Donny Hathaway/Leon Russell. It’s an extremely powerful vocal, and Shawn totally kills it. What a way to end the night!

Now, America will vote for their favorites, and the top three will automatically earn a spot in the finale. The final spot will be claimed by whoever wins the Instant Save — and all will be revealed during tomorrow’s episode!

Michelle Obama appeared to subtly diss Donald Trump by claiming that just because someone had a good TV show, it doesn’t mean they’d make a great president.

Michelle Obama has the best way of throwing such subtle shade without actually throwing anyone under the bus by name. The former first lady appeared at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, on May 11 for a 90 minute Q&A about her memoir Becoming. Host Gayle King asked Michelle if she would consider running for president, like many people thought the CBS This Morning host’s BFF Oprah Winfrey would do after a rousing 2018 Golden Globes speech that sounded incredibly presidential. Michelle said that just because someone has had a TV show, it doesn’t qualify them for the Oval Office. While she seemed to be talking about Oprah, many took it as a jab at President Donald Trump, who presided over NBC’s The Apprentice as seen in video here from the event. 

Michelle, 55, has said many times over that she has absolutely no desire to return to the White House. She told Gayle that politics needs to really be in someone’s blood to want to be POTUS, and for Oprah as well as herself, that’s not the case. “Here’s the thing: People have to want to be in politics,” she said. “It has to be their passion. It’s not just because y’all like them. Like Oprah, she’s nice, she’s got a great TV show, so she should be president. That’s not how it works. We did that.” which got a big laugh out of the audience who seemed to think she was dissing Trump and The Apprentice.

“Being president is hard and it’s dangerous because there are no easy answers to any of this stuff,” she explained. “It requires intelligence and it requires understanding history,” she continued and after mentioning intelligence, the audience again erupted in noticeable laughter. It was so much that Michelle has to tell everyone “Look look look, don’t turn this into shade.”

She continued, “You’ve got to have the temperament and patience. As a mother what you do not understand, if you’re asking me to run, is the toll it takes on the people around the president. It is a heavy ask. My children are graceful, wonderful, and they are champions to have made it through eight years alive on the other end of this. I am grateful.”

Talk about blissful co-parenting. Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner laughed and looked so happy as they cheered on their kids at a L.A. soccer match, and the pics don’t lie about their good time.

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner continue to make good on the promise that the wouldn’t let their divorce get in the way of happily co-parenting their three children. The former couple took advantage of the first sunny day Los Angeles has had all week to soak up some rays while watching their kids play soccer on May 11. They sat close together on the sidelines and not only cheered on their youngsters but were photographed laughing and smiling at each other.

Jen, 47, looked incredible and fit in skin-tight black leggings, trainers and a black crop top hoodie. Ben, 46, wore a grey t-shirt and jeans while both had on shades to protect them from the sun. It’s been gloomy and grey in L.A. all week so they probably welcomed the chance to soak in some vitamin D from nature. The former couple is parents to daughters Violet, 13, Seraphina, 10, and seven-year-old son Samuel.

The couple worked down a “long road” to be this happy together for the sake of their kids. “Ben and Jen have found a way to put the kids needs in front of their own and things have really begun to work great for them, everyone in the family is really happy,” we EXCLUSIVELY told you. “Ben and Jen have done a ton of work to get to a healthy place. Ben has worked hard to become a better father and Jen has worked on things from her side too. It has been a long road, but they are all getting along really well, they have found a way to make it all work.”

No doubt the mom of three is anticipating a wonderful Mother’s Day on May 12. Jen is already riding high off being named PEOPLE magazine’s Most Beautiful Woman of 2019. She told the publication “I’m starting to get to the point where I realize this job is not going to be forever,” about being a mother to three young children. “Not in the all-encompassing every meal, every moment, every day way that I have loved for the last thirteen years. It’s going to shift. But there’s beauty in how it works in episodes.”
